AER: Heart of Honor Volunteers To Help With The Community Burned Bird Meat (Thanksgiving) Dinner
Several crew of the IKV Heart of Honor had the day off on the day before the holiday known as Thanksgiving. So they and the ship’s cadet corps headed to the Old Town Hall to help the Kearney Area Concerned Citizens with their preparations for their free Thanksgiving feast for those that are less fortunate, or have no one to spend the holiday with.
Before we arrived, the cadets made Tootsie-Pop turkeys. This took place on the previous two Saturday’s before we arrived to help with the preparation of burnt bird-meat and the other items that will be served on Thanksgiving Day.
While there was no battle, or much physical activity, when we arrived home, everyone was exhausted, but a good time was had by everyone!
